Mac Shortcuts

Below are the common shortcuts when using Mac in Production.

Browser Navigation

(1) ⌘ + T to open a new tab

(2) Shift + ⌘ + T to open the last closed tab in your browser

(3) ⌘ + W to close the current tab in your browser

(4) Hold ⌘ + < click a link > to open it in a new tab

(5) Control + Tab to go to the next open tab

(6) Control + Shift + Tab to go to the previous open tab

(7) ⌘ + 1 through 9 to go to a tab by number

(8) Hold ⌘ + UP arrow to scroll to the TOP of the page

(9) Press Home to scroll to the TOP of the page

(10) Hold ⌘ + DOWN arrow to scroll to the BOTTOM of the page

(11) ⌘ + R to refresh

(12) ⌘ + Shift + R to hard refresh

(13) ⌘ + Option + R to hard refresh

(14) ⌘ + F to search / find

Security / Troubleshooting

(15) Control + ⌘ + Q to lock screen

(16) Shift + ⌘ + Q to log out of the user account

(17) Option + Shift + ⌘ + Q to log out of the user account w/o confirmation

(18) ⌘ + Tab to switch between open programs

(19) ⌘ + W to close current window

(20) Option + ⌘ + W to close all windows / apps

Filing System

(21) Shift + ⌘ + N creates a new folder

(22) ⌘ + N when in Finder to open another window

(23) ⌘ + A to select all

(24) ⌘ + C to copy

(25) ⌘ + V to paste

(26) Option + Shift + ⌘ + V to paste without formatting

(27) ⌘ + X to cut

(28) ⌘ + X to undo

(29) ⌘ + Shift + Z to redo the last action

(30) ⌘ + B to bold

(31) ⌘ + I to italicize

(32) ⌘ + U to underline

(33) ⌘ + Shift + X to strikethrough the highlighted text

(34) ⌘ + K to add a hyperlink to the highlighted text

(35) Shift + ⌘ + H to highlight text
